There is no doubt that Nawaf Takruri synthesized most of the best arguments, and his collection, al-`Amaliyyat al-istishhadiyya fi al-mizan al-fiqhi (Martyrdom Operations in the Legal Balance), which has gone through numerous editions since it was first published in 1997, is the premier book on the subject.

In order to achieve this goal, the strategy has been to apply international and especially American pressure on Israel to gain concessions.
